One-Minute Chocolate Cake

On my way to work last Monday, I browsed through foodgawker and I saw this insanely delicious looking photo of Rak’s Kitchen. I stopped and thought to myself, “Is that even possible?!”. So I googled Rak’s Kitchen and in her post she directed her readers to the recipe’s source Chocolate-Covered Katie. Oh.My.Goodness! I just had to try this out.

Not a full 24 hours had gone by before I attempted this wonderful single serving of microwaved chocolate goodness in our home. I scanned through the ingredients and had to wonder what spelt flour was so I eventually ended up using all-purpose flour instead since that’s what I had on-hand .Also, I used canola oil instead of vegetable oil. 😀

Are you ready? 🙂 Ready to make this your daily dose of chocolate? 😀 (No? Well, you may be like me who is on the lookout for my ever-growing waistline! Or maybe trying to be healthy? Congrats! :-D)

After dinner, I got up and prepared all the ingredients.

Then, I measured the dry ingredients and put them in a bowl.

I then made sure that all the dry ingredients were mixed thoroughly.

Next, I added the wet ingredients.

Then I whisked it.

When that’s done, I poured all the gooey yummy batter into a 6-oz ramekin.

I set the microwave to 650 watts and microwaved it for exactly 60 seconds. I took it out and topped it with some cocoa powder.

Do you want to see the texture of the cake? Sorry, I forgot to spread oil or butter into the ramekin so I couldn’t take it out! 😛 Don’t be like me!

I am super happy with the results! I do not bake (yet) and for something that was cooked for 60 seconds — this is absolutely delicious! 🙂 Looking forward to creating more…Tonight! 😀

UPDATE: I did make more One-Minute Chocolate Cake that night (12/09) and I added chopped dark chocolate to it! Oh how my husband loved it!

Right after the step where the wet and dry ingredients were mixed, I added the chopped dark chocolate — I used this Lindt chocolate below:

Then I mixed it some more and poured the mixture into the ramekin.

Microwaved it for 60 seconds at 650w.

I took it out of the microwave and let it cool for a while then attempted to take it out of the ramekin but it just won’t let me! So before my husband and I ate one of the servings (I made two that night!:)), I remembered to take a picture of how it looked inside. Can you see that? It tastes like brownies now…or maybe a very rich cake! That’s yuuuuuuummmmmmmyyyy!
